Here’s the short version: we’re obsessed with connecting women.
When the pandemic hit, something big shifted — people started showing up for small businesses in a whole new way. We saw the need for a platform that made it easy to find and support local gems, especially the women-owned ones, so we rolled up our sleeves and built it.
We grew up surrounded by family-owned and small businesses — and now we are one (shoutout to our sister company, Waterloo Street). So we know firsthand how crucial it is to have loyal customers and real visibility when you’re running your own thing.
Back in 2017, we launched Waterloo Street with a mission: help women-owned businesses take control of their marketing and attract their dream clients, even if they didn’t have a massive budget.
The Biz Collective is a natural extension of that mission — born out of our passion to connect with other entrepreneurs, not only so we can hire and support each other, but so we can actually help one another grow.
For the past three years...
The Biz Collective has been doing exactly that
Shining a spotlight on remarkable women-owned businesses through our ever-growing directory.
Offering resources and marketing support so their voices get heard loud and clear.
Hosting events and building community, because growth feels better (and is way more fun) when we do it together.
Why We Do What We Do
Because when women thrive, entire communities thrive.
Because visibility = opportunity.
Because business doesn’t have to feel lonely.
We’re here to prove that community over competition isn’t just a cute saying — it’s a strategy. And it works.
