When the pandemic hit, we noticed through our connections in the community that there was a renewed sense of interest in uplifting small businesses. We knew people needed a platform to discover and support small businesses in the greater Pittsburgh area so we set out to create it.

For the past three years, we’ve been specializing in providing just that, specifically for women-owned businesses. We've cultivated an extensive directory of remarkable women-owned businesses, offering them a spotlight to be discovered. We also provide valuable marketing resources and support, ensuring their voices are heard.

With this innovative approach, our visitors and followers not only discover unique, locally owned businesses and amazing products and services, but they also contribute to the growth and empowerment of women entrepreneurs in Pittsburgh. Together, we're building a stronger, more vibrant community.

so, what's
the story?

is our freaking jam

connecting women

Where did the idea come from?

We grew up surrounded by family-owned and small businesses (and now we are a family-owned business!), so we know how crucial it is for these businesses to have loyal customers! This is the solution we came up with: an online directory dedicated to highlighting women-owned businesses.

When we started our agency, Waterloo Street, in 2017, our mission was to empower women biz owners to take control of their marketing strategy. We wanted small biz owners & entrepreneurs who might not have a huge marketing budget to still be able to attract their target audience (and make $).

The Biz Collective was born out of our passion to connect with other entrepreneurs, not only so we can use each other’s services, but so that we can HELP each other grow.
